Unit Experimental is the result of the synergy between researchers and experts from different fields, who have a shared objective of offering innovative experiences in the realm of culture.
Comprised by researchers from the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Higher and Technical Schools of Informatics of the Universitat Politècnica de València, UPV (Polytechnic University of València), since 2012, the team has been researching the possibilities of fusion between art and technology in projects for museums, organisations and companies.
Our work methodology for the design of exhibitions and digital mediation allows us to construct transmedia discourses which offer significant experiences, making the most of the possibilities of physical media in combination with digital media.
Unit Experimental participates in diverse projects, always exploring the possibilities offered by new technologies.
At Unit Experimental we research the synergies between the exhibition space and technologies, to develop high impact transmedia experiences. We have developed augmented reality projects, mobile phone apps, exhibition designs, interactive installations, online experiences. All of them developed with the clear objective of developing solid, innovative museographic projects, thanks to the combination of traditional media and an efficient, balanced, meaningful use of technological resources.
This philosophy has brought us to work in national and international exhibitions, having developed projects in cities such as Chicago, Washington, Miami, Madrid, Pontevedra, A Coruña or Valencia, among others. We have worked for customers such as Seat, Iberia, Espacio Fundación Telefónica, Agencia Efe, or Fidelity, as well as having worked with organisations such as the Science Museum Príncipe Felipe, the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia, or the ABC Museum of Drawing and Illustration.
Unit Experimental is also involved in education, and in specialised edition, which goal is to hybridise professional practice, research and teaching, participating in education projects such as the MA in Design and Illustration by the Universitat Politècnica de València, and the edition of the journal EME Magazine, a publication specialised in design, illustration, art and visual culture.
