Women of Science

Science, gender, art and new technologies are combined in this initiative by the Universitat Politècnica de València and the innovation centre Las Naves, of the Ayuntamiento de València (València Municipal Government) with the collaboration of the Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT) (Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology) of the Ministry for Science and Innovation. With this project, the walls on our streets are transformed into an open air museum in which the citizens can discover, or rediscover, some of the most important female scientists in history, and their struggle for gender equality in this field.

Unit Experimental was in charge of the design and production of the app “Women of Science” which allows discovering, through Augmented Reality, more information about these scientists, on the murals around the city of València.
